Open access and licensing

How what we publish is released, licensed and corrected.

Proposed policy, pending editorial approval. This text is a working draft and may change before the journal launches.

Open access

All published content will be freely available online, without registration, from the moment of publication. Anyone will be able to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search and link to the full text without asking permission, in line with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition.

Article license

Proposed license: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), which allows reuse and adaptation of the content, including for commercial purposes, as long as authorship and source are credited. Each article shows its license, with a link, on its own page and in its machine-readable metadata (license tag, JSON-LD and Dublin Core). If an article were published under another license, it will be stated on its page.

Copyright and self-archiving

Authors retain copyright of their articles and grant the journal the right of first publication under the stated license. They may deposit the published version in institutional or personal repositories, citing the journal and the link to the article.

Author charges

To be defined. If any charge were ever introduced, it would be announced before submission and would never influence the editorial decision.

How to cite

Each article page shows its suggested citation and offers it for download in RIS and BibTeX formats.

Corrections, expressions of concern and retractions

We follow COPE guidance. A published article is never deleted or silently rewritten. When there is an error, a serious doubt about its reliability or confirmed misconduct, the editor-in-chief publishes a permanent notice at the top of the article page: a correction (errors that do not invalidate the conclusions), an expression of concern (while an investigation is under way) or a retraction (when results are unreliable or there is misconduct). Notices carry a date and a reason, cannot be edited or deleted, and retracted articles remain visible, marked as such. An editor cannot publish notices on their own articles.

Digital preservation

Under evaluation. This section will be updated when a preservation arrangement exists (for example LOCKSS, CLOCKSS or equivalent); until then none is claimed.
