Editorial process

How each manuscript is handled, from receipt to publication.

Proposed policy, pending editorial approval. This text is a working draft and may change before the journal launches.

  1. 1

    Initial editorial screening

The editorial team checks scope, format, ethical requirements and text similarity.

  2. 2

    Peer review

Independent reviewers assess the manuscript under the anonymity scheme defined by the journal.

  3. 3

    Editorial decision

Accept, request minor or major revision, or reject. The final decision rests with the editor-in-chief.

  4. 4

    Author revisions

Authors respond to comments and upload a revised version with a response letter.

  5. 5

    Editing and publication

Copyediting, production, proofs and open-access publication.

1. Initial screening

The manuscript is checked for scope, format and ethical requirements, and screened for text similarity. It may be rejected at this stage without external review.

2. Peer review

Proposed initial scheme: double anonymous, with at least two independent reviewers. Reviewers disclose conflicts of interest and treat the manuscript as confidential.

3. Editorial decision

Accept, minor revision, major revision or reject. Editors with a conflict of interest do not handle the manuscript.

4. Revisions

Authors respond point by point and upload the revised version. Reviewers may reassess it.

5. Editing and publication

Copyediting, production, proofs and open-access publication. No article is published without explicit editorial approval.
